Glossary
As you explore this site you may see words that are unfamiliar. This is to be expected.
Well-being Stewardship is a new territory. This requires new language, or sometimes ancient language brought forward to our present time.
If we had used familiar terms, you would have had a connection with a meaning or context based on your experience. Multiply this by the number of people reading this and you see our dilemma - what word to use when many people have their own perception of what that means?
A fresh start is needed.
This is what writers do when they create new words for their new worlds.
You get (a potentially) new language for your journey into Well-being Stewardship as an Alchemist.
New language is part of the journey. Enjoy. Apply. Share.
Alchemist
As an Alchemist, you are drawing on a universal archetype.
Archetypes are subconscious patterns passed on through generations and across cultures. Books and movies are filled with archetypal characters.
Find out more about the traits of the Alchemist here.
Alchemy
Alchemy is about transformation.
It is the process of transforming metaphorical, or actual, trash (the toxins, thoughts and trauma that lead to disease) into the gold of Vibrant Living.
You'll experience how the path of Well-being Stewardship is an alchemical, transformational process for healing - for you, the planet and the ailing healthcare system.
Medicinary tools
This term is used to encompass anything and everything - substances, energy movement, deep listening, intention and consciousness - that can impact your state of being.
Many people think of "medicine" as pharmaceuticals. So that term is too limiting to be used.
Some people may not consider things like acupuncture, the energy of plant medicine (either as an herb or in a homeopathic diluted form), or nutritional supplements as "medicine." And those are all examples of things that when used appropriately have beneficial medicinal value.
So we landed on the term "medicinary tools," so it would encompass a very broad range of things, including unseen actions such as those found in Reiki, sound healing, meditation, EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), all medicinary tools of the Blue and Purple Zones.
Stewardship
Vibrant Living
Vibrant living expands the nature of health well beyond the absence of disease.
Vibrant living also expands the nature of well-being beyond some of the typical focuses such as sleeping well, healthy body weight, optimal digestion or the lack of brain fog.
While all those are important, Vibrant living encompasses the qualities you experience. This can include: creativity, compassion, curiosity, heightened intuition, emotional resilience and balance, meaning and purpose.
Those qualities may the result of things like optimal digestion and sleeping well.
The question is, what do you want to focus on - saying you have great digestion and sleep, or recognizing and enjoying your sense of wonder and awe, inspiration, adventurous spirit, inner peace or interconnection with all living things?
Vibrant Living shifts your focus to the quality of your life, not just the quality of your physical or emotional functioning. Read more here.
3 Pillars of Choice
The old way of making healthcare decisions in a disease-based sick care system starts with "do you take insurance?"
Your inner Alchemist needs a new recipe - a new decision-making framework or roadmap for Vibrant Living. This consists of three areas you will be empowered and equipped to assess:
- The Nature of your Being - You will learn about orchid natures, the zone of resiliency, what really leads to disease and more, so you have a better foundation to select medical sciences and well-being partners.
- The Nature of the Experience - You will learn to determine if the experience is designed to support healing.)
- The Nature of the Medicine - You will learn about the qualities of the vast range of what we call Green Stewardship Zone medical sciences, and how to assess the appropriate combination for your needs.
Learn more about the 3 Pillars here, and more about the forthcoming book chapters here.
7 Zone Continuum of medicinal options
Beyond "eastern / western" or "conventional / alternative" there are actually 7 arenas, or zones, of medical sciences and medicary tools. Western/conventional is only one zone. That leaves you with six other choices! No wonder this can be confusing.
The first step in putting together your alchemical recipe for Vibrant Living is to understand the purpose, value and benefits of each type of medicinal options, and how each zone relates to specific worldviews. That matters. They are interconnected. See an overview of each zone here.
